Dying In The Service

Are your worship services killing your church attendance? I hope not to this extent:
An old story tells of a Sunday morning when a preacher noticed a little boy named, Alex, staring up at the large plaque that hung in the foyer of the church building. The seven-year-old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the preacher walked up, stood beside the boy, and said quietly, "Good morning Alex."
"Good morning," replied Alex, focused on the plaque. "Dr. Simpson, what is this?" the young lad asked.
"Well son, these are all the men who have died in the Service," replied the preacher.
Soberly, they stood together, staring at the large plaque. Little Alex’ voice barely broke the silence when he asked quietly, "Which one, the 9:00 or the 10:30 service?"

FOR SAFETY'S SAKE...

The following was sent to me a dozen years ago. This is more of a joke than a story, but it is fun enough that I thought I would share it:

Do NOT ride in automobiles: they cause 20% of all fatal accidents.
Do NOT stay home: 17% of all accidents do occur in home.
Do NOT walk on the streets or sidewalks: 14% of all accidents happen to pedestrians.
Do NOT travel by air, rail, or water: 16% of all accidents happen on these.
Only .001% of all deaths occur in worship services in church, and these are related to previous physical disorders. Hence, the safest place for you to be at any time is church. Bible study is safe, too. The percentage there is even less.
Go to church! IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!

Perilous Worship

I love the old story about the preacher who noticed little Alex gazing at the large plaque that hung in the foyer of the church. The seven-year-old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the preacher walked up, stood beside the boy, and said quietly, "Good morning Alex."
"Good morning," replied the young lad, focused on the plaque. "Dr. McGhee, what is this?" Alex asked.
"Well son, these are all the men who have died in the Service," replied the preacher.
Soberly, they stood together, staring at the large plaque. Little Alex’s voice barely broke the silence when he asked quietly, "Which one, the 9:00 or the 10:30 service?"
